【Kaohsiung Local Hi】Antinomy Company - Embarking on a Drift to the Unknown
Over sixty years ago, in the pursuit of survival and new opportunities, she boarded a ship and drifted off into the unknown. When she arrived at her destination, she was immediately taken to a pre-arranged wedding and married to a man she had never met. Sitting on a chair, she tells her story with distorted memories and lost words. She did not want to forget, and yet she did. She did not want to stay, but found herself left behind.
This is a solo performance crafted through soundscapes and documentation, incorporating themes of history, decolonization, and multiculturalism. The interpretation of real stories evolves from the travel history of one woman into a family history, and the history of immigration and colonialism in Asia.

LI Yun is a director, sound/music designer and scenographer. His works include forms such as theater, sound, text, video, body movement and installation. LI works on diverse genres covering both modern and traditional theaters. His theater narrative is based on an aesthetic philosophy of object, focusing on multiple meanings. Recently, he has continued his research on Taiwan's colonial history, viewing historical events as a method of reflecting on the present and future. Through this process, he raises questions about how contemporary society perceives the past events, reorganizing our understanding of historical occurrences.

At 25, she decided to pursue acting and was admitted to the Acting Program at Taipei National University of the Arts, later also joining the University's Film Actor Training Program. She left school in 2021 and is now a freelance actress, working across various media including film, television, theater, commercial, immersive performances, and print.

Antinomy Company
Incorporating the principles of "Multiple forms, multiple participation, multiple care," Antinomy Company is a mixed media art collective with members from diverse backgrounds. They explore the possibilities that exist across art forms through theater, performance art, sounds, and installations, especially the polysemic possibilities. The company continuously researches and explores the conflicts between individual internal states and collective external environments. Recent themes and approaches in their works include "decolonization," "collaboration with non-professional performers," and "site-specific performances."
Creation research supported and commissioned by National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying)
